Description

A leather patch previously worn by Colonel Claude. S. Buchanan, previously attached to his uniform. The style of this leather patch is typical of World War II-era name badges of its day, bearing "C. S. Buchanan" in a clean and readable typeface. These leather patches were specifically donned by those serving in the United States Army Air Forces, established on June 20th, 1941, to succeed its predecessor, the United States Army Air Corps, in unifying its operations.
