Description
An assorted display of dance programs at the Michigan Union, including the aforementioned March 11th, 1913 dance that included the Michigan Union Opera pantomime performers. Formed in 1904, the Michigan Union was a social club that held activities like dances and operas to promote unity at the University of Michigan. The programs and invitations are colorful and inviting, with the March 11th, 1913, chaperone list artfully cut into the shape of a hat and tassel. One such program directly references the pantomime performance "Flirtation from Contrarie Mary," which starred actors Joe Turpin and Ed Wilson.
