A letter and a letter of acknowledgement concerning Claude S. Buchanan's paid dues to the Pendleton, Oregon chapter of the Royal Arch Masons, coming to a grand total of $2.00. The Freemasons were a popular recreational group during and after World War II. The services of the Freemasons boosted morale among servicemen and veterans through hot meals, games, and various other social activities. The Pendleton RAF was originally hosted in the Masonic Temple of Pendleton, Oregon, constructed in 1887 to serve to community's needs.
