Written in his late seventies, the following transcripts were written by Claude to be preserved and passed down to his "Beloved Ruth and Dale" (his daughter and son-in-law) and their descendants.

The transcripts for this excerpt from "Memoir Book One" were created and finalized by Aiyana Gross, a crucial part of the Mission Memory Team. Over the course of four months, Aiyana worked tirelessly on transcribing Claude's entirely handwritten memoir of both his civilian life and military service.
